Apremont in the beautiful Vendée

This well designed park is located in an idyllic position in the Vie Valley on the banks of lake Apremont in the Vendée. This is a beautiful area of France and is highly popular with the British, many of whom have settled in the region.

This is a well established park - with its own large swimming pool, restaurant and snack bar. The park has been expertly landscaped and the plot sizes are generous and well designed, all of which gives the park an attractive look and feel.

Phase Two of this sought-after park is currently in development and plots are being prepared for occupation in the New Year. The new part of the park will have its own swimming pool planned to be built at the end of 2008 - eventually giving the park two pools. There will also be a new restaurant/bar added in the following year.

It is only a short stroll to the local village of Maché which has a small general store, bakers, bar, hairdresser and garage. The nearest town of Aizenay is 8 kms away and offers a choice of shops, supermarkets, doctors and chemists. The park's lakeside position is ideal for those that enjoy fishing, boating or windsurfing and of course the lake's large sandy beach is the ideal spot for sunbathing and swimming. Many plots enjoy views of the lake, and there is a pretty lakeside walk accessible from the park. For those who want a larger home, this park can accommodate twin unit homes which is a real bonus as most French parks will not accept larger homes.

The Vendée has a fabulous coastline of long sandy beaches, small islands, large resort towns and quaint fishing villages. Inland the countryside is equally impressive with vast green plains, wooded hills, rivers, waterways and lakes.

The Vendée is populated with chocolate box villages and castles, one of the oldest of which is Apremont. This historic settlement is just a stone's throw from the park and has the remains of its own Renaissance castle which overlooks this pretty village.

The Vendée area is a perfect playground for all sorts of pursuits especially water sports, fishing and golf. For those that enjoy country walks, there are many signposted routes and cyclists will find a network of specially constructed cycle paths which run along the Vendée coast. The Park is situated half way between the towns of La Roche sur Yon and Challans and is just a short twenty minute drive to the charming coastal town of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie and its beaches. The popular and beautiful coastline of Les Sables d'Olonne is easily reached. The region is second only to Provence for the most days of sunshine in France.

The Vendée is protected by the Gulf Stream and enjoys a micro climate with mild winters and warm summers that are never too hot. The region enjoys the second warmest climate in France after Provence.

The Vendée is easily accessible from the UK by air, sea or train with regular low cost flights to Nantes (1 hour) and La Rochelle (90 minutes), the Eurostar to Lille and TGV to Nantes, and a choice of ferries from the UK to the ports of St Malo, Le Havre and Cherbourg.
